Flame Hill Stomp Festival

I attended the inaugural Flame Hill Stomp Festival last weekend to celebrate the grape harvest along with live entertainment and a gourmet spread.

The estate encompasses a 100 acre vineyard and farm Located near Montville in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, Flame Hill offers some spectacular views of the region including Mooloolaba and Coolum.

The highlight of the festival was a grape stomping ritual, led by Greek style gods and goddesses who blessed the grapes and got festivities underway. Local artist Katz Farrer provided the stunning adornment for the gods.

The vineyard’s resident guinea fowl were popular with the gaggle of kids that followed them around, as was playing in the barrels - sans crushed grapes!

Wine tasting, good food, great company and a sunny day. What’s not to love? Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area…
