We travelled from Sarajevo, stopping at the Ostrog Monastery and continuing to the coastal cities of Budva and Kotor.

The Monastery of Ostrog (Манастир Острог) is a Serb Orthodox Church monastery built into an almost vertical cliff around 900 metres above sea level. The Monastery was founded by Vasilije, the Metropolitan Bishop of Herzegovina in the 17th century and is the most popular pilgrimage place in Montenegro.

After visiting the Monastery, we travelled to Budva and Kotor on the Montenegrin coastline of the Adriatic Sea. The Bay of Kotor was stunning and is a submerged river canyon, but resembles a fjord. A little piece of Scandinavia in the Balkans!

The summit allowed me to present on the topic of optimising ancillary revenue for airlines and catch-up with a range of past colleagues and industry contacts.

It also provided the perfect opportunity for me to be an unashamed tourist and stroll through the main sights of Sydney’s CBD at night.
